Short answer
Roughly 1-2 gallons (4-8 liters) per day, and much more in hot weather or when nursing.
Water needs depend on temperature, diet and life stage. Lactating females and alpacas on dry hay in summer can drink twice as much. Always provide clean water, and keep it unfrozen in winter — low water intake is a major cause of impaction and urinary stones.
