About alpaca pregnancy
Alpaca pregnancy lasts about 335 days (11.5 months), with most births between day 320 and 350. Because females are induced ovulators, breeders can time matings so crias arrive in mild weather — usually spring or early autumn. Most crias are born between mid-morning and early afternoon.
Use the timeline as a planning aid and confirm pregnancies with your vet. Read the breeding guide and birthing guide, and check the best birthing months for your county in our local climate guides.
