Short answer
Alpacas rarely jump; a 4-5 ft (1.2-1.5 m) fence is plenty to contain them. Fences are mostly about keeping predators out.
Use non-climb woven wire rather than barbed wire, which tears fleece and skin. Electric wire can help deter predators but alpacas' fleece insulates them from shocks.
