Do alpacas kick?

A

Short answer

They can kick, mainly backward with a hind leg when their legs or rear end are touched. Their soft padded feet make kicks less dangerous than a horse's or cow's.

Alpacas are especially sensitive about their legs and hindquarters. Approach from the side, stay close to the body when working near the rear, and train them gradually to have their feet handled.
