Short answer
Alpacas are very clean: the herd uses a few communal dung piles, and they have little body odor.
One of the biggest advantages of alpacas is their communal latrine behavior. Cleaning a few dung piles twice a week keeps paddocks tidy, reduces flies and breaks parasite cycles.
Their fiber contains no lanolin, so alpacas don't have the greasy smell of sheep. The main odor around an alpaca barn comes from uncleaned dung piles.
