Short answer
No. Alpacas are too small to carry people and their backs are not built for weight. Even llamas carry only about 25-30% of their body weight as packs.
Riding can injure an alpaca's back and legs. If you want a hiking companion, alpacas can walk on a lead (alpaca trekking), but they don't carry packs; llamas are the traditional pack camelid.
