Short answer
Only when needed. Modern practice is to run fecal egg counts and deworm individual animals based on results, not on a fixed calendar.
Routine whole-herd deworming has bred drug-resistant worms on many farms. Test feces every 4-8 weeks in the warm season, deworm animals with high counts or clinical signs, and check that the dewormer worked with a follow-up count.
In meningeal-worm areas, your vet may recommend a preventive protocol in the risk season — discuss the trade-offs carefully.
