Do alpacas have teeth?

A

Short answer

Yes, but no upper front teeth. They graze with lower incisors against an upper dental pad, chew with molars, and males grow fighting teeth.

Adult alpacas have lower incisors, a hard upper dental pad, cheek teeth (premolars and molars) and, mainly in males, sharp canine 'fighting teeth'. Lower incisors should meet the front edge of the dental pad; overgrown incisors need trimming.
